Job site / location: Mirrabooka Shopping Centre, Mirrabooka, Perth, WA
Client: Mainbrace / Woolworths
Value of Works: ~$50,000
Commencement of Works: August 2010
Completion of Works: November 2010

Description of Works

Mainbrace contracted SERS to provide respirable fibre monitoring and clearances during the refurbishment of a Big-W store in metropolitan Perth. Works predominantly involved the removal of asbestos containing vinyl tiles throughout the centre.

Works were conducted out of hours with the majority of monitoring conducted overnight (23 night shifts). Clearance monitoring was conducted prior to the store opening to the public on each trading day which enabled the client to operate effectively while not enduring any downtime during peak pre Christmas trading.

Outcome

The client was given an overnight service with minimal notice offered to SERS (generally 4 hours) in a cohesive fluent manner.

Clearance monitoring with results were given to the client in writing prior to the store opening to the public on each affected trading day.
