Ten Years Of SERS

In June this year, SERS celebrated our ten-year anniversary. Starting as a two-person operation in Perth, WA in 2008, we have grown and developed in a way consistent with our original ethos of facilitating compliance and a smooth progression of developments to our clients.

In 2016, we expanded to include an office in Brisbane, Queensland which now has a team of eight and is continuously growing. In 2017, our Sydney, New South Wales office opened with support from our Brisbane operations. We are consistently present on major projects on a full-time basis across the country from the Pilbara in the North West, across the South East Queensland areas, country New South Wales and also inner-city Sydney.

The overall SERS team has grown to more than 30 personnel and now includes qualified Environmental Planners, Environmental Scientists, Occupational Hygienists, Licenced Noise Officers and Environmental Technicians.

When we first opened, we focused on asbestos management and the clean-up of a four-hectare former James Hardie Asbestos manufacturing plant which was completed over a four year period. Since then we have increased our services to include environmental monitoring, dilapidation surveys, spill response, landfill management and planning, and contaminated land services, all of which have become the key pillars of services which we offer.

In addition to increased personnel capacity and services, we now have two NATA accredited Asbestos laboratories in Perth and Brisbane with full Environmental, Quality and Health and Safety ISO third-party audited accreditation from SAI Global.

As we move into the new financial year and the next ten years of SERS, we are focusing on increased customer service, organic expansion of our services and further office locations both within and outside of the Australian market.

As an organisation, we’re excited to see the continued growth and development of SERS alongside the industry.
